A Brief Overview and Use Cases for Tachyon v8

tachyon v8

Recently, I came across the new version of an “experience management” product called Tachyon by 1E. I signed up for their 1E Tachyon 8 Launch Webinar wanting to know more about the product. It was hosted by Michael Wright (Director of Product Marketing, 1E) and Bogdan Udrea (Chief Technologist Product, 1E).

Why Must Digital Workplace Leaders Use Tachyon V8?

We’ve seen a high resignation rate in the U.S recently where 4.4 million people quit their jobs in September 2021. This climate has raised concerns over whether IT is one of the core reasons employees are changing their minds and switching jobs.

In a hybrid workplace, analysts have concluded that there is friction between employees and the overall IT ecosystem. Organizations seem to leave employees behind whilst chasing their modern business-critical goals.

Whenever issues occur, IT seems to contribute more to the bottlenecks by prolonging the time they take to resolve issues. This is one of the main reasons behind the frustration of the employees. Other than this, some other reasons are:

  • Employees experiencing repeat issues
  • IT organizations do not routinely ask employees for feedback
  • The inability of IT to reach out to the employees to resolve issues due to their remote work
  • Employees not being able to use the resources as efficiently as they did on-site

To boost the productivity and engagement of employees within an IT economy, you need to provide them with exceptional experiences by fulfilling the expectations they may have from IT. And, that’s exactly why Tachyon v8 has come forward with a notion called Experience Economy.

What Is Tachyon v8 All About?

For issue resolution, simply observability and monitoring are not enough. Organizations need to be armed with the right set of tools and functionalities to take immediate actions and remediate issues faster.

Tachyon v8 aims to make hybrid workplaces more frictionless by accelerating the process of transforming insights into action.

1E Tachyon 8- “Focus on what matters most” comprises 4 main elements:

1. Analytics & Insights

Here, you’ll find increased levels of insights to offer better visibility into Networking, Boot & Login, and also into what’s happening in the applications or software.

2. Resolution Acceleration

This component features enhanced capabilities such as:

  • Quadrant view/Placement to help administrators understand where a specific device stands in relationship with other devices in an organization. It also helps you correlate a metric or event to see their impact
  • Side-by-side Comparison is able to compare identical devices and their performance to extract insights, so IT admins can quickly understand what’s really going wrong with the concerning device
  • Server-Side Instructions/Anomalies is another preview feature that highlights anomalies and helps you address them

3. Action & Prevention

Just like the previous versions, Tachyon 8 again continues to release Multi-OS Management Packs. These packs are nothing but a set of instructions or automation routines that you can deploy onto Tachyon. It helps you address a real-time problem statement against devices as an outcome of RCA.

4. Engagement & Empowerment

New capabilities are built for enhanced user interactions, to ultimately boost engagement and self-service capabilities. Other than that, cool features are built here such as automatic ticket management and ITSM Integration.

Use Cases for Tachyon 8

Now there are hundreds of use cases you can run for Tachyon 8. Here, we will be discussing only a few primary ones, as follows:

In addition to Sentiment Surveys and Information Surveys, Tachyon 8 introduces a new element viz. Announcements. It is like a one-way communication with the end-user and it can be used for various use cases. You can use announcements to announce IT or non-IT changes, organizational changes, or simply let the users know about an outage in the enterprise.

Interactions’ is another interesting module in Tachyon 8 where a 1E client can react or interact in response to a user action, device behavior, or any application action. This allows them to automatically engage with the employee working on that device to boost interactions.

All of these four elements are added to the 1E client’s persistent UI for quick access.

Another great use case for Tachyon is how you can use its four modules viz. Perception
& Usage Insights, Acceleration, Action, and Empowerment in your environments to drive change management campaigns.

With these functionalities, you can:

  • Gather invaluable insights on how employees feel about the respective campaign via Surveys and Usage metrics
  • Group them based on the focus areas using Tags and Management groups
  • Use insights to drive actions and change deployment or communication management
  • Lastly, use User Interactions or Announcements to empower them with better self-service or self-help capabilities

Conclusion

The whole point of releasing Tachyon 8 is to be able to map hundreds of use cases or capabilities so as to address the common friction that arises within an IT ecosystem. To understand what’s really happening with a device, you need to understand its behavior. Tachyon 8 helps you accelerate issue resolution using contextual insights and self-service capabilities. All of this aims to ultimately manage and enhance employee experiences.

There’s actually a lot more to explore about Tachyon 8, if you’re interested to learn more, you can join 1E’s Tachyon Tuesdays Specials where they’ll touch on more use cases.
